Backwoods bowhunter podcast

A couple of backwoods good ole boys coming at you in the Whiskey and Whitetails podcast studio in the heart of big buck country at the Whiskey and Whitetails Farm in Southern Illinois.

We bring our style of backwoods humor, have some fun, drink a little whiskey and/or beer, talk some bowhunting and whatever other topics we feel like talking about. We have the habit of getting a little off track every so often.

Our style is for you to feel like you’re sitting around a campfire with a group of hunting buddies telling stories, lies and being complete degenerates. Most importantly, we want to share our passion for archery and the thrill of the hunt.

Acts 10:11-13: “He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.””

Genesis 9:2-3: “The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands. Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.”

Tim Jarvis

Tim absolutely knows nothing about hunting, but he is a certified Capuchin Monkey trainer and we know of nobody else in the State of Illinois with that kind of skill level.

He is extremely jealous that his fellow team members have multiple pieces of taxidermy in their homes and office and he does not. He recently picked up a gray squirrel that had obviously been electrocuted after running across a utility power line and now proudly displays his first piece of taxidermy in his living room for all to see.

Mike Edgin

Mike is formerly from northern Illinois (us at the bottom of the state call em yuppies up there). Mike is the former President of the PETA chapter in his hometown. Mike has been arrested numerous times for protesting against hunters on the streets. Often times nude.

After a severe allergic reaction to eating soy burgers, Mike finally realized his previous dark ways were wrong. He moved to southern Illinois to learn the ways of bowhunting and fishing. He has a lot to learn and a bumpy road ahead of him, but ultimately we will make a hunter out of him. Not so sure about his eldest son though!

Justin Miller

Justin is formerly of Southern Illinois, but decided to take a vow of silence and move to Thailand where he is now devoting his life as a Buddhist Monk. He asks that we all honor his desire to change his life and support his spiritual practice: to live a simple and meditative life and attain nirvana.

Even though he is no longer with us, the Backwoods Bowhunter team is reserving a spot on the team for Justin as we wish to honor his commitment to his new lifestyle.

Nocked N’ Loaded

Nocked N’ Loaded is Backwoods Bowhunter’s annual gathering of like minded folks. We get together for food, drink and to tell hunting stories that are mostly false. We have raffle drawings, multiple giveaways, some archery fun for the kids and a overall good time. This is a family event. All hunters and their families are welcome to attend.
